I checked the upper end of Liberty Lake this morning for shorebirds. The water level continues to drop and today the birds were a little farther downstream at the primary mud flat which is on the Baltimore County side. When I arrived virtually all the birds were on the Baltimore county side. Though a few strayed over to Carroll County the vast majority stayed there.

Canada Goose 160 flying over
Mallard 2
Green-winged Teal 11
Great Blue Heron 1
Great Egret 1
Golden Plover 1 molting adult still present, Baltimore Co. only
Semipalmated Plover 2, Baltimore Co. only
Killdeer 58, both sides
Solitary Sandpiper 2, one on each side
Greater Yellowlegs 1, Baltimore Co. only
Lesser Yellowlegs 65, most I have ever seen here, some in Carroll Co.
Ruddy Turnstone 1 juvenile, Baltimore Co. only, third record for the lake, fifty feet from being the third record for Carroll Co.
Semipalmated Sandpiper 1, Baltimore Co. only
Least Sandpiper 40, Baltimore Co. only
Pectoral Sandpiper 16, Baltimore Co. only
Pipit 1, seen on the mud on the Baltimore Co. side, later heard calling flying over the Carroll Co. side
