Norm's posting about the Retirement Living Channel caused me to think about
all of you birders out there with some time on your hands. Now is the time
to walk into your local elementary or middle school and speak to the
principal about teaching an afternoon birding class as part of their after
school enrichment program. Having class once a week is good, twice a week
is better ... and do it 2 days in a row for continuity. Don't try to
compete with sports on Saturday morning.
Try it for the first half of the school year and you will probably be hooked
and continue for the entire year. Personal rewards are many - monetary
assistance for guides or seed or bins are few. Give it a try.
