 Hi --

Thanks Wallace! We didn't get around to posting earlier today since we are still trying to dig out from a mountain of mail and emails but did do up notes and have a few additions as we checked some other areas including Dog Run and Nature Ctr:

We had totals of 12 BT Greens, 2 more BT Blue (@ Dog Run), 5 Bay-breasts (incl. two bright adults), 1 Redstart, 1 Ovenbird, 12 Yellowthroats, 3 Chestnut-sided (2 at Nature Ctr.), as well as the same Tennessees, Maggies, B&Ws, Parulas, etc. as Wallace and company saw. Jeff had a Hooded early.

Also, 5 R-B Grosbeaks, 5 Scarlet tanagers, 4 Brown Thrashers, 5 Red-eyes, 5 Phoebes, 2 Wood-pewees, 2 Swainson's Thrushes, 1 Wood Thrush, 1 House Wren, ~15 Flickers, and - two early Sapsuckers eating grapes. One of them was hanging upside down holding onto a grape by one foot and pecking at another berry -- pretty early Sapsuckers!

It was an odd day, started very slow and looked like it was going to be rather disappointing, about to bag it when the birds suddenly came in!

Cheers,
Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper

p.s. Uganda was great, lots of birds and mammals, but very tough conditions (no email, argghh!) with very long walks and steep climbs, long drives on bad roads, but saw almost 550 species plus Chimps and Mt. Gorillas. But glad to be home!
