I'd like to remind everybody that MOS is a volunteer organization, and those
who have composed the rules for the atlas photo contest gave it a sincere
effort that was not intended to annoy the serious photographer, nor
impoverish then nor to exploit their labor.
For you accomplished photographers, might I suggest that you set your sights
a little lower, and not seek to provide every illustration in the book?
I, for one, have about 20 photos that I think have some merit and I would
like a sporting chance. But if each of the first-string photographers out
there submit 200+ top notch photos, will I or any of the the other small fry
have any chance at all?
I think the point has been made. Perhaps it's time to take this discussion
off the Osprey. So if you have any concerns you'd like to raise with me,
please do so off-line.
