Last night, at about 6 p.m., I was surprised to see up to six common 
nighthawks sweep back and forth overhead, mixed with up to 20 chimney 
swifts. I think this is the latest I've seen nighthawks in this area. 
The Yellow Book, however, has them as scarce but steady (the thinnest 
continuous line) through about the first week of October.
