I birded Cromwell Valley Park this evening after work - just along a
small portion of Minebank run off of the south park entrance (willow
grove farm) and ended up with 4 wrens and 6 sparrows. The Lincolns
Sparrow was in the overgrown fenceline on the southeast side of Minebank
Run, and the Marsh Wren was in the deer-filled field between that
fenceline and cromwell bridge road.
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk - making a low dive for the sparrows
1 Cooper's Hawk
2 Red-tailed Hawk
5 Eastern Phoebe
4 Carolina Wren
5 House Wren
1 Winter Wren
1 Marsh Wren
(100s?) American Robin - they were flying through/over the entire time I
was there.
2 Yellow-rumped Warbler
6 Palm Warbler (5 eastern, 1 western)
4 Common Yellowthroat
200-300 Chipping Sparrow - in their usual spot near the bridge. I
wonder why they always congregate in such large numbers here
2 Field Sparrow
22 Song Sparrow
1 Lincoln's Sparrow
30 Swamp Sparrow
2 White-throated Sparrow
200+ Common Grackle
Cheers,
