I hope it's okay to post this bird (but non-birding) item to the list, but maybe some birders in the DC area have seen my friend's female parakeet, who has been missing since yesterday in the area around the National Cathedral. Here's her description:
   
  Yellow with denim blue flecks and pink cheeks and cere, leg band. 
   
  Missing from 3100 Wisc. Ave, NW.
