Taking the back road home yesterday eve, i came upon
a field ALIVE with more than 100 KD. This was not a
newly plowed field as the crop had already started to
grow from an earlier seeding. There were also many
similar fields around that had no birds. My number
is a rough estimate in that their could easily have
been 2x as many birds although i don't think there
were fewer than 100. Whether there are any "gems"
among the KD is unknown as i had no bins or scope with
me. It might be worth checking out if you happen to
be in that vicinity today.

Directions:
Filed was on the N side of LEES LANE closer to the
intersection with MD17 than with Catholic Church Rd
and was just BEFORE the sharp turn in the road &
directly opposite the small farm pond. This field is
very near the large waterfowl pond that is cited often
in MDOSPREY off of MD17 several miles south of
Burkittsville. I won't be able to check my computer
for most of the rest of the day, so will be unable to
clarify these directions further. Hope they are good
enough - they are accurate...
