John Bjerke stopped at Blackwater yesterday afternoon (Oct 30). He writes, "There to my astonishment was a winter plumage Red Phalarope in the canal at pond 5c near the end of the wildlife drive. Bill was too stout and mantle was too smoothly gray to be a Red-necked. I was astonished; they are highly pelagic. I think it is only my second one inland."
