I arrived at the location where the Red Phalarope has been seen
around 2:00 today. A woman who had just photographed the bird
(apparently) was taking down her camera and tripod. She told me
that the phalarope had flown off, down the canal, toward Route 335.
I searched for it for the next 2 1/2 hours, going around the wildlife
drive twice more, with no luck. I did not see any other birders
who had the bird "in their sights" during this time.
