This (Sat., 11/3) morning I visited Kenilworth Park (KP) and the Natl.
Arboretum (Arb.), and have the following birds of note to report:

Cackling Goose - 1 flying overhead (fairly low) at KP with a small flock
(c.10 birds) of Canada Geese
Horned Lark - 1 flying overhead at KP
Eastern Meadowlark - 2 in the tall grass at KP
American Pipit - 3 flying overhead at KP
Red-breasted Nuthatch - c.4-6, mostly in the Asian Garden area of the Arb.
"Western" Palm Warbler - near the Capitol Columns at the Arb.
Pied-billed Grebe - on the bigger of the two ponds at the Arb. (but this is
still a relatively small body of water - would be interesting to watch it
take off)

Try as I might, I couldn't find any finches of interest. But there's plenty
of food at the Arb., so I think it's worth visiting. In addition, there was
a lot of activity all morning - many Am. Robins, some E. Bluebirds, several
flocks of Cedar Waxwings, lots of blackbirds all flying over. On the ground
there were juncos, towhees, sparrows (Song, Swamp, Field, Savannah,
White-throated).

Good birding,
