Hello All,
The winter finch invasion finally reached Oak Grove with a single female/imm. Purple Finch visiting the yard with a mixed flock. Even though it was in the tree right above the feeders, it never went to the feeder. Maybe it was just passing through. I had a nice walk, very birdy throughout. The farm was fallow this year and the weedy overgrowth continues to host abundant sparrows with 8 species in decreasing numbers (Song, WT, 10 Junco, 9 Chippers, 4 Field, 4 imm WC, 2 Swamp, 1 Savannah). 2 Palm Warblers (1 each) and a Phoebe also in the mix. Other birds of interest included a FOS Brown Creeper, 2 flyby Wilson's Snipe, 130 Killdeer in a bare field on Oak Grove Rd and raptors (3A, 1 imm Bald Eagle, 2 Sharpie, 2 Coop, 2 BV, 2 RT).

Good Birding,
Glen Lovelace III
