Around noon today, the Pine Siskins put on quite a
show at my thistle
feeders. Their total number reached six, along with a
dozen or so
Goldfinches.

Others have also mentioned Siskins in recent days, but
no one is mentioning the sex of the birds unless i
missed that.
As i mentioned the two that visited my thistle feeders
last week were both females judging by the total lack
of yellow. Peterson, shows the color difference
between M/F in its illustration, although the text is
a little ambiguous about this. Is anyone seeing
males? You can reply off topic regarding past
observations. For future postings how about
mentioning M/F when reporting Siskins, or at least
presence/absence of yellow coloration? My pair was
nowhere to be seen on the weekend.
