Hi Everyone ,

After driving the wildlife drive at Blackwater refugee Sunday two times I was
finally able to find the Red Phalarope outside of the wildlife drive . From the
end of the drive turn left , go a little ways and there is a parking area on the
right . From this parking lot looking across the road the Red Phalarope was in
the very left hand corner of the cove. It was standing in front of a small island
of marsh grass . It was doing the spinning that it is known for . There was a
few hundred Mallard behind the bird . They were all spooked after about 15
minutes . They flew around and landed further back behind a big island of
grass out of sight. Also here were several hundred Canada goose , 4 Brown
Pelicans in the back , a few Forster Terns flying around and Two Bald Eagle
landed in the edge of the woods behind the lot. A couple Yellow rumped
warblers were hanging in the bushes next to the parking lot. Bird list below.
