Lisa and I used the break in between two of Adam's soccer games at the Germantown Soccerplex on Sunday to drive down to the C&O canal path via Sycamore Landing Road.

The birding was better than we anticpated. Highlight was a large flock of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS (approx 60) foraging in the old canal. Also there were about 80 CEDAR WAXWINGS, dive-bombing into a pool of water to bathe.

	Other birds:

	Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker (2)
	Downy Woodpecker
	Northern Flicker
	Red-Bellied Woodpecker
	Brown Creeper
	White-Breasted Nuthatch
	Fish Crow (heard)
	Ruby-Crowned Kinglet (2)
	Yellow-Rumped Warbler (3)
	Red-Shouldered Hawk (heard)
	Belted Kingfisher
	White-Throated Sparrow

May also have heard 2 Pine Siskins. Plus the usual...

	Good Birding!
