Richardson's (Cackling?) Goose at Greenbelt Lake

There is a Richardson's Goose at Greenbelt Lake in a flock of Canadas (seen and heard ~4 pm today).  Are Richardson's considered Cackling Geese or a subsp. of Canada?  This one looks like the Sibley's Richardson's: quite a bit smaller and with a relatively stubbier bill than his colleagues.  S/he also has a pale breast. I didn't pay close attention to the shape of the head but I don't think it had the very rounded head of the Cackling as shown in Sibley.  However, his/her call is much less of a honk than that of the Canadas.  Less nasal, more squeaky and higher pitched than the Canadas.  Sibley says this is the sound of the Cackling.   Any tips on which it is?
