John Dennehy and I spent a couple of hours at BWI in the middle of the day
today looking in vain for the goshawk. We tried from the garage roof, the
skywalks, the observation area, and as much of the perimeter as we could access,
carefully eluding security at all times. At one point we saw what looked like
a very large bird with a relatively long tail flying into a tree that seemed
miles away on the south side of the airport, but we never got a better look.
We weren't aware of the Andover Overlook mentioned by Stan. It was so windy
I'm not sure we could have seen anything through a telescope anyway. We did
see a pair of Red-tailed Hawks.
