Chris,

When I lived in Reston, va for 20 years, I had plenty of cardinals at my feeders.using the same black sunflower seed. Here in owings, Md near North Beach in a similar wooded environment, I rarely see any caradinals at my feeders.
1. There have been so many finch 20-30 at a time, that it may put them off. But now the finch are gone and i see very little activity at the feeders.
2. A coopers hawk had been regularly visiting my area recently so that my be a recent explanation.
