Hi all,
I birded a bit in Montgomery County this morning. A couple brief trips to
the Polo Grounds at 8 and 9 yielded thousands of starlings but no larks or
pipits. In between trips I went to Hughes Hollow where there were quite a
few birds, but nothing too unusual. Highlights were several Fox Sparrows and
a Red-Shouldered Hawk. Last I stopped by Riley's Lock where there was a
pretty good variety of water birds:
Horned Grebe
Pied-billed Grebe
Common Loon
Ring-necked Duck
Bufflehead
Canvasback
Common Goldeneye
Hooded Merganser (1 hen)
