We began counting migrating raptors on Sept. 1st and ended on Dec.29th, 2007. Our total
hours of coverage was considerably lower than previous years, and the season totals
reflect this.

In comparison, the ASHLAND NATURE CENTER HawkWatch in Hockessin, Delaware had a
spectacular inaugural season with 6,255 raptors counted!! Located just 53 miles north-
east of Cromwell V.P., the Ashland staff and volunteers put in over 388 hours of coverage
and recorded a number of Golden Eagles and Northern Goshawks. Along with the ROSE
TREE PARK HawkWatch(Pa.) and the TURKEY POINT HawkWatch(Cecil Co.), Ashland lies
along the same general flight path that Cromwell V.P. is on. One has to wonder what
we're missing on those days that are not covered here at Cromwell.
Thanks to all who helped this season, especially Cal Orvis without whom our numbers
would have been considerably lower and the time spent less enjoyable!!
