Did a 40-minute walk around Greenbelt Lake, PG County, this morning before finishing my commute into DC. The sun was out, the wind was down and there were loads of waterfowl in the ice-free sections of the lake:

_ Hooded Mergansers (I counted 13, both m and f. This is more than I've ever seen in one spot).

	_ Ring-Necked Duck, 50 (a very conservative count)

	_ Ruddy Duck, 25+

	_ Pied-Billed Grebe, 3

	_ Common Goldeneye, 1 f

	_ Ring-Billed Gull, 15 (including some first-year birds)

	_ Golden-Crowned Kinglet, 1 (and possibly two)

	_ White-Throated Sparrow, several flocks.

	Good Birding and Happy Holidays!!
