At around 4:30 this morning two Great Horned Owls were calling in the distance. Since I was already up, I figured I'd see if I could find them. Following the calls worked and I got better listens of both owls and a few good looks at one of them.

Additionally, some on this listserv may have at some point taken an injured bird or other animal to Wildlife Rescue, Inc., formerly in Dundalk, MD and now in Hampstead, MD. One of the co-founders of the organization passed away recently after a long illness. There is an article in today's Baltimore Sun on Wayne Deterer. Funeral services are today.
