Hi All,

Happy New Year. I was coming home from a doctor's appointment in town at
2:30 PM this afternoon and took a swing by Great Oak Pd and Landing (at
the mouth of Fairlee Creek). At the pond there were two Tundra Swans,
1000 Canada Geese, 800 Snow Geese (about 6 blues), and one adult ROSS'S
GOOSE, and a RICHARDSON'S CACKLING GOOSE. At Great Oak Landing there
were 150 Mallards, 2 black ducks, 4 Green-winged Teal, 19 Common
Mergansers, and four PIED-BILLED GREBES. On Melitota Rd (MD-298), next
to the Eve's Cheese Farm, a Killdeer flew over the road. On Elbon Rd in
Chesapekae Landing there was an adult Red-shouldered Hawk perched at the
edge of the meadow. We still are hosting at least four Red-breasted
Nuthatches at our feeder.

Good birding,

Walter Ellison
