Dear All

There's lots of Canada Geese along the Potomac in Central DC this monring,
probably 2,500 birds around Memorial Bridge. Amongst these is a single
Cackling Goose which was first on the Potomac and then flew to feed amongst
the geese on the baseball pitch alongside the river, the one nearest to the
Lincoln Memorial. It was surprsingly hard to find when in amongst the feeding
birds simply because its so small you can't see it. Tremendous bird.

Also there was an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull standing on the ice on the
river just upstream of the memorial Bridge on the DC side.

The Constitution Gardens pool has a small ice free hole in the centre where
the two Wigeon, the Gadwall still remain, but the Redhead has gone.

 Cheers

Gary
