I've also noticed bats (3 on MON and one yesterday)
while waiting for traffic to clear the Brunswick MARC
parking lot in the evening. In addition small flocks
of robins and larger flocks of blackbirds (couldn't
guess at their ID although they don't seem to be
starlings) are flying from N to S over the Potomac
heading to VA. Political boundaries are unimportant
to wildlife, of course, and it's early and the wrong
direction for migration, so i'm guessing that feeding
is occurring in MD while VA is favored for roosting -
perhaps at the Christmas tree plantations around
Lovettsville.
