I have received several e-mails about my Blue-winged Teal comment saying it is a good bird at this time of year on the coastal plain. Yes, this is ridge and valley up here and no I was not on the coastal plain. I was simply making a point that it was even less expected up this way, actually totally unexpected.  I also noticed that my post the day before sounded like I had the highlights in the late morning before meeting the other guys, not so. Thus are the perils of posting sightings during play off football games, it is easy to get distracted and lose train of thought.
