S Frederick county's 4 or so inches os snow is still blanketing the fields and farms. Perhaps for that reason (for the first time to my knowledge this season) the crows decided to pay a visit to the spilled sunflower seeds under my feeder. They appeared to be having a good time with little apparent squabling and numbered as many as 24-30 (a guess). There were always "sentinels" on the fringes of the group that were quick to give alarm whenever they detected movement (me) inside the house. Hopefully they will have cleaned up the grounds, sparing me the trouble for a time.

Red breasted nuthatches continue along with Chidadees, etc., but nothing more exotic :(
