American Tree Sparrow - Soldier's Delight

Walked and birded the Orange and Red trails at Soldier's Delight Natural Environmental Area and found the following birds between 6:30 and 9:30 AM today:
   
  Barred Owl
  American Crow
  Eastern Towhee
  Common Raven
  Northern Cardinal
  Tufted Titmouse
  White-breasted Nuthatch
  American Goldfinch
  Carolina Chickadee
  Brown Creeper
  Dark-eyed Junco
  AMERICAN TREE SPARROW - 2 in flock of Junco's w/1 Field Sparrow
  Hairy Woodpecker
  American Robin
  Downy Woodpecker
  Red-bellied Woodpecker
  Blue jay
  Northern Flicker
  Carolina Wren
  Field Sparrow
  Pileated Woodpecker
   
  Very surprised by the lack of winter finches, i.e. no Redpolls, Crossbills, or Grosbeaks, which are being reported en masse just to our north. 
   
  Also stopped at Liberty Resevoir:
   
  Common Loon
  Common Merganser
  Ring-necked Duck
  Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
  Pied-billed Grebe
  Bald Eagle
   
  And at Piney Run Park, a nice abundance of waterfowl:
   
  Canada Geese - 1,000 + (no cacking or GWF)
  Pied-billed Grebe - 16
  Ruddy Duck - 4
  Common Merganser - 52
  Hooded Merganser - 40 (very active, and close in, nice displays and calls by the males)
  Lesser Scaup - 1
  Canvasback - 6
  American Widgeon - 12
  American Coot - 43
  Great Blue Heron - 1
  Bufflehead -  14
  Herring Gull - 2
  Ring-billed Gull - 15+
