the bay on the near side of the far jetty in the inlet at about mid Morning . It went close but not to close the Rt 50 bridge viewed from behind the Oceanic Hotel but across the other side of the bay . When I first saw the bird it was half way through the inlet . Noticing how small it was compared to both species of Loons around Common and RedThroated and the Harlequin Ducks presant on the rocks near by. My first impression was an Alcid but too small for a Razorbill , it had a small bill and was chunky looking The little fella would dive under resurface floating on diving again. It was colored a black and white . while I was the first to locate it in our group I was able to get the others on the bird . It was a Life Bird for me as well as some others in the group . But others who have seen them before concured with all presant including two men not in our group who seen the bird at the mouth of the Inlet most of way through that it was a Dovkie . It could be the same bird as seen on the CBC there in Dec . Good luck to those that go there keep your eyes peeled for it and Report to Maryland Osprey seen or not seen . It might be hurt it had its wings hung out to its side while it was on the water surface some of the time while in sight .
