Maryland Birders,

Please pass along information about the annual Great Backyard Bird Count
to your chapters and birding friends. Info in email below. It's an easy
and fun way to share your birding results and help Cornell and National
Audubon Society collect data at the same time.

Thanks for considering participation!

Maureen Harvey

Hi Maureen,

It's that time again. The GBBC will be held Presidents' Weekend
February 15-18, 2008. I have no way to document it, but I suspect our
count numbers and quality have gone up significantly since MOS began
participating a few years ago. The Count tracks interesting phenomena
such as winter finch irruptions and hummingbirds frequenting places
where they don't belong, as well as West Nile Virus and conjunctivitis
effects.

Publicity material and all the pertinent information can be found at
birdsource.org/gbbc.
