For those who are keeping track of the timing of the Painted Bunting
sightings, the Arnold bird was also seen earlier today, at about 8:15. It fed at the
green hopper feeder to the left of the bamboo for about 3-4 minutes. What a
beauty!

After finally seeing the White-winged Crossbill at Silver Spring this
morning, I decided to swing by the Painted Bunting location in Arnold.

I was there for quite some time and had a wonderful chat with Nico Sarbanes
& his dad. It's nice to see a teenager excited about birding. Kudos to his
dad for schlepping him all over the place in search of birds.

About 5 minutes after the Sabanes departure, the birding activity really
increased. A small feeding flock of chickadees appeared at the feeder. Then
the bunting appeared. A small shaft of sunlight was shining on the bunting as
it fed. What a great sight!

When the chickadees disappeared, so did the bunting.
