Hi Everybody,

The Kent County Mid-winter Bird Count will be help this Sunday the
tenth. This count attempts to record the status of birds in mid-winter,
before spring migration truly kicks in, throughout Kent County. We
currently have teams in the Rock Hall and Eastern Neck area, and for the
south Kent County necks and Chesapeake Farms. This leaves a lot of good
habitat in need of coverage, such as the eastern part of the county,
including Millington WMA (great for field birds, raptors, and Snow
Goose), the Sassafras River valley, and Still Pond Neck. Depending upon
interest, territory size and location is still negotiable. Last year's
count produced 79 species and 66543 individuals, with two parties
afield, highlighted by Merlin and Cackling Goose. Past editions have
produced Golden Eagle sightings. If you are interested please give Nancy
and me a call at the number listed below.

Good birding,

Walter Ellison & Nancy Martin
