Congratulations to all those who saw the PABU and the WWCB today and
over the past two weeks. And big thanks to those who are hosting the
birds. The Maryland birding community should buy these folks some
millet and some thistle!

Personally, I was aiming for the Cromwell Valley NORTHERN SHRIKE. I
know, a Shrike impales in comparison to a PAINTED BUNTING, but I've
never seen one. While attempting to leave my house, the feeders got
unusually busy for about 30 minutes. I ate some cereal and had a yard
count, complete with coffee, paper and pen.

When it quieted down, I went on my way to hopefully see my LIFE bird
for the weekend. Sadly, I skriked out. It was there mere minutes
before my arrival (around 11:30AM). I left the park just before 2 PM,
SHRIKE-LESS, but still satisfied with my hike around the valley.

On my way home, I called my wife. She was at OLD NAVY, so I thought
it would be fitting that I visit the REAL NAVY'S Greenbury Point here
in Annapolis. And since was at the store, I knew I had a few more
minutes of birding left in me for the day.
