Several months ago, maybe last fall, somebody posted that they had seen some
turkeys behind the Butler Fire Dept in the morning. Since we go past it on
the way to work, we checked it out a couple of times and came up blank.

So we forgot about it until today when we were approaching the area on
Butler Road. The fire house is to the left and across the street from that
intersection. Today in a field on the left (north) just before we got to the
intersection, I spotted what I thought at first might be vultures on the
ground. A second glance corrected that mis-identification and came up with
turkeys instead. I didn't get any kind of a count but there were maybe 20
birds. Definitely less than a thousand.
