Today we had 200 goldfinches at the feeders and on the gound, at one
time. I don't know if this is a large number for others, but it is our
record. We also had 3 creepers which is higher than normal. Our purple
finches were down to 9.

While I don't think I had anywhere near 200, I did have what was easily my
highest number of goldfinches today also. I didn't really count but there were
many more than I've ever seen at the feeders (maybe 60+). I threw out
handfuls of millet, black oil and cracked corn so the juncos could eat, and attracted
a small number of White-throated Sparrows as well, something I normally
don't get.
