I just stepped outside (6:00 pm) to get the dogs out.  Killdeer and geese 
are calling and I believe I heard woodcocks in flight.  I had woodcocks in 
the field across from me last spring and repeatedly heard them peenting and 
flying.  While I did not hear any peents, the wing flutters and downward 
twittering certainly sounded familiar.
