Tom Field and I birded today in Ann Arundel and Baltimore Counties. We started at the Arnold Painted Bunting which was very obliging. We only had to wait about 15 minutes before the bird showed. A Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was also present.

Fort Smallwood

Gadwall - 4 in the pond
American Black Duck -- 6 in the pond
Hooded Merganser -- 6 in the pond

A large scaup flock that wrapped around the park bayside was far enough out to only be labeled Scaup sp?
both Lesser and Greaters were seen closer to shore.

A single imm. Greater Cormorant was seen sitting on the two rocks north of the park along with many Double -crested Cormorants. I think these rocks are in Ann Arundel County, can someone verify this?

Waterfront viewed from Harbor Hospital -- Baltimore County
Redhead -- 8

Southwest Area Park -- Baltimore County

Largely devoid of birds save for the murder of crows that seemed to mock us during our entire walk around the park.

Red-shouldered Hawk -- A pair making quite a raucous.
American Woodcock -- 1 flushed while walking in phragmite's in the southern section of the park
Savannah Sparrow -- 2 birds seen around the parking lot
