We've seen adult Bald Eagles in places in Montgomery County where I wouldn't
have expected them, i.e., not close to water.

The best one - last weekend up near Sugarloaf (I think we were still in
MoCo, but not sure). As we were driving along the road that runs to
Sugarloaf (Comus Road, I think), I saw an adult Bald Eagle in a field,
tearing into a deer carcass.

A few months back, another adult sitting on a light pole on 270, Northern
MoCo. Lots of raptors along this stretch, but first time we saw a Bald Eagle
on a light pole.

A bonus, last weekend - a Red-headed Woodpecker, also along Comus Road up
near Sugarloaf. Just not where I'd expect to see this species...no
water/marshy area/stand of dead trees nearby that I know of. In fact, most
of the area is open field.
