March 4, 2008 (Tue) 7:30 pm., at Sherwood House, Cromwell Valley Park. "Exploring for Bowerbirds and Birds of Paradise in Western Papua" Bruce Beehler, Vice President of Conservation International's Melanesia Center for Biodiversity Conservation, describes the amazing discoveries made by his expedition to a pristine forest region of Papua Province in Indonesian New Guinea. The group found a species of bird new to science, Wattled Smoky Honeyeater, 20 new frogs, and 4 new butterflies, and made headlines in 500 newspapers around the world. Not to be missed!
