At Jeff Shenot's request I am posting this to MDOsprey:

Subject: Request for assistance with marsh bird survey in Somerset County

Message:

The Maryland National Estuarine Research Reserve (CBNERR-MD) is initiating
an effort to monitor secretive marsh birds at their three reserve sites:
Otter Point Creek, Jug Bay, and Monie Bay. This effort would be part of a
National Marsh Bird Monitoring Program to evaluate trends in marsh bird
breeding. To make this possible we need the help of volunteers to conduct
surveys for specific marsh birds at the Monie Bay site. Monie Bay is
located in Somerset County, 20 miles from Salisbury. This is an area of
about 3,400+ acres and would require about 3 or 4 surveys per season, which
would need to be completed between early May and late July (specific dates
flexible to volunteer's availability). Surveys are based on a national
protocol and will be coordinated by Patricia Delgado, CBNERR-MD research
coordinator. If you are interested in participating or obtaining more
detailed information about this effort please contact Patricia Delgado as
soon as possible at:
