Jane and I are participating in a feeder watch study (http://www.projectwildbird.org/). This morning while I was taking the first several timepoints, there were pretty much the usual suspects: juncos, white-throats, mourning doves, chickadees, titmice, goldfinch. Then a nice Fox Sparrow popped out from under our Carolina Sweetshrub and fed for a while below one of the hopper feeders. Well, that was a nice surprise. Then, a bird flew in and landed on one of the shepherd's hooks. I thought it looked odd for a junco and then it started pumping its tail and it turned into an Eastern Phoebe! It didn't stick around long, just long enough for an ID. I'm quite sure that this one is a migrant.
