On the evening of Tues March 4 my wife and I went to Sycamore Landing Road and River Road in Poolesville to listen for woodcock at 6:45 pm. As soon as I stepped out of the car, I saw one timberdoodle sitting on mud flat just10 feet from the car. It walked around for 30 seconds and then flew off. no displays and no calls, maybe the intermittent rain squalls stopped them?
