An earlier note regarding Black Vultures (BLVU) urged me to post about the numerous resident Black Vultures at the Aberdeen Proving Gorund (APG) in Harford County. There is a large roost of both Turkey (TUVU) and Black Vultures at building 310 on APG. I would esitmate this numer to be around 100 birds with a good 50/50 mix of TUVUs to BLVUs.

More of note, however is that there is now a secondary roost consisting of at least 75 (actual count) of BLVUs which roost on the newly painted water tower of the APG fire station (Bldg 2200). These birds are present every morning when I arrive at 0730 and seem to loaf nearby all day...

Good birding,
Chris Starling
