"The Prairie Falcon was observed crossing Britton Road
near the intersection of Britton Road and Mud Level
Road at 0715. As I approached the usual perch of the
PRFA on Mud Level Road, I saw something that really
IRRITATED me. Sitting with reverse lights on 150
yards down the lane, was a vehicle parked in front of
the "usual" perch of the PRFA. I can only assume that
since the PRFA flew from that direction two minutes
prior to my arrival of the "usual" perch, that this
knucklehead in the vehicle couldn't resist driving
ACROSS a landowner's field to get a better look at
a PERCHED bird. They were actually IN part of the
field in front of the perch! This is exactly the type
of behavior I urged birders NOT to engage in, and here
we are, with a pathetic display of birding ethics. I
blocked the lane as the driver of this vehicle backed
down the lane long enough to get the license plate.
The vehicle was a newer model red Toyota 4 Runner,
bearing a Maryland License plate number "32125". The
vehicle was occupied by a male driver and a female
driver in the passenger seat, and it drove down Duncan
Road toward Route 533. If anyone knows who these
individuals are, please pass along my utter
disappointment in their inability to show respect
toward the landowner and the PRFA. Hopefully someone
says something to them, as I didn't get a chance since
they rapidly exited the area."
P.s. One can access the owner ID of the vehicle via
the Maryland DOT, if
they don't think it would be taking it too far.......
