Yesterday we had maybe 500 COMMON GRACKLES in and around our
yard for day 1 of this round's FeederWatch. Today I got up
to find our backyard, front yard, and surrounding
neighbours' yards *black* with grackles, easily thousands of
birds. And all very wet. Amazing! This is is Laurel, PG
County.

(Oh, other highlights yesterday: a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET
[male] in the company of a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER [female]
again. No sign of the Red-breasted Nuthatch, but we did
finally have a HAIRY WOODPECKER [female] come back, and we
heard a PILEATED WOODPECKER calling.)
