As some of you may know, I am the current Editor of The Maryland
Entomologist, which is the journal of the Maryland Entomological Society.
The next issue will deal exclusively with the insects of Hart-Miller Island
(HMI). Four MDOsprey members have submitted articles for this issue. The
six articles are as follows:

"The Creation of Hart-Miller Island, Baltimore County, Maryland" - David
Peters

"A Preliminary Annotated Checklist of the Insects of Hart-Miller Island,
Baltimore County, Maryland" - Eugene J. Scarpulla

"A Rare Maryland Damselfly (Odonata: Coenagrionidae) Enallagma doubledayi
(Selys, 1850), Atlantic Bluet, at Hart-Miller Island, Baltimore County,
Maryland" - Richard L. Orr

"Giant Swallowtail, Papilio cresphontes Cramer, 1777, on Hart-Miller Island,
Baltimore County, Maryland" - William Hubick

"First Record of Palamedes Swallowtail, Papilio palamedes (Drury), 1773, in
Baltimore County, Maryland" - Marcia R. Watson and Deborah Terry

"The Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) of Hart-Miller Island, Baltimore County,
Maryland" - Timothy Foard

Because of the nature of this issue, it will be of interest to many
individuals and agencies outside of the Maryland Entomological Society. I
will soon be meeting with printers and need to know approximately how many
copies we will need to print for the Maryland Entomological Society, the HMI
South Cell Environmental Restoration Project Working Group, the HMI North
Cell Habitat Development Working Group, and the HMI Citizen's Oversight
Committee. If you would be interested in obtaining a copy of this issue
when it becomes available (probably sometime early this summer), please
e-mail me off-list at . There will be a small charge to
help defray the cost of printing since the Maryland Entomological Society
budget is miniscule.

Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
