The RED SHOULDERED HAWK that was rescued in January and released last
month at GREENBURY POINT has been spotted by an Annapolis resident.
Russ Mader Jr. (thankfully) snapped a photo of a hawk with a silver
band on it's left leg.

Recently Russ posted his raptor sightings on MDOSPREY. Since he lives
right here in Annapolis, I decided to send him an email. I thought
perhaps he could keep an eye out for our released red raptor. The
photo (on the blog) was taken less than a mile from where the bird was
rescued. I think this is a fantastic way to end the weekend. I do
love success stories.

I hope Russ doesn't mind me telling this story on the list, but... I
wanted to personally thank Norm Saunders for this MOSPRREY and of
course Russ for his keen eye on the raptors! Without MDOSPREY,
learning about this bird's successful reintroduction would've been
MUCH more difficult. Without Russ posting his observations... ditto.

I think it was a really nice way to end the weekend.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.
