After visiting the Patterson Park Public Charter School with my array
of School Specialty catalogs and education information, I noticed a
female American Kestrel perched on one of the many leafless trees. My
next appointment was not until 1, so I decided to spend a half an hour
walking the park. I've never explored the park and have heard many
good things about the little lake.
I wasn't disappointed.
When I returned to my car, I noticed that a 2nd Kestrel had joined the
1st one, still perched on the same limb. The 2nd Kestrel looked quite
sick. It's feathers were a mess. The poor bird looked like it took a
bath in oil and mud. Sad to see.
But, I enjoyed my walk all the same.
