Hello all.

I birded some of my usual northern Anne Arundel County haunts this afternoon.
The three Eastern Meadowlarks gave really good looks at Brandon Woods
Fields.

Also, the winds created some nice white-caps on the Patapsco and gave the
grebes and scaup a run for their money. We get a lot of wind down here, but
today's gusts were more generous than usual.

Highlights:

Brandon Woods Fields/surronding brush areas:

Turkey Vulture: 8 riding the high winds
Osprey: 2
MERLIN: 1 perched on a wood rail and flew low
Ring-billed Gull: 1 flyover
Killdeer: 6
Carolina Chickadee: 2
Eastern Towhee: 2
Song Sparrow: 2
White-throated Sparrow: 4
EASTERN MEADOWLARK: 3
House Finch: 2

Brandon Woods Pond:

Canada Goose: 2
Hooded Merganser: 3 one male, two females

Riviera Beach:

Horned Grebe: 3 on the Patapsco
Double-crested Cormorant: 40+
Canada Goose: 2
Mallard: 30
Greater Scaup: 65+
Bufflehead: 30+
Ring-billed Gull: 40+
Great Black-backed Gull: 6
