Weather:
Sunny; 45-52 degrees; excellent visibility; winds very strong, mostly out
of the WNW, 16-29 mph, gusting to 39 mph
Raptor Observations:
A remarkable day. The magnitude of the flight was unexpected given the
extremely strong winds. Vultures, hesitant to cross the water in the wind,
would pile up in large swirling masses until finally heading out. A great
showing for Kestrels, which even though they were buffeted about, seemed to
enjoy the ride. An Osprey has returned to its nest, newly built last year.
Yes!!
Non-raptor Observations:
Killdeers sitting on a nest on a roof. Three Northern Rough-winged Swallows
